We interview hundreds of b2b customers (from across the decision making unit and beyond), and two things are clear. The customers’ world is changing fast, and they are facing more complex decisions. They are much more open to considering new ways to navigate through these conditions.
For leaders of b2b subscriptions, this means doing what you’ve always done is not good enough. Staying in lock step with customers, and creating new ways to solve their problems is the new normal.
This is why we’ve created a membership, alongside our advisory service, to focus our resources on optimising subscription performance for ambitious b2b information, data and analytics companies.
Substribe was founded by Steve Budd and Andy Burden. We earned our stripes in b2b subscription companies for about 15 years – including senior roles in exciting growth stories and transformations. We have different skills and perspectives, but we share the core belief that the customer must be at the heart of decision making. What binds us is our quest to discover better practises for subscription success and our passion for solving customer problems.
We met whilst partnering on a subscription transformation success story – Procurement Leaders. After a combined 15 years at Procurement Leaders, we set out to build the solution to the challenges we faced when we were leading our b2b subscription teams. To succeed, we know it is critical to unify cross functional teams, to discover what the customers of b2b services need to make them more successful, and learn from pitfalls and successes with other subscription leaders. So we created the place for this to happen, focusing and energising subscription leaders to better serve their customers and boost performance. This is why we created Substribe.
Since 2018, we have improved the performance of more than 50 brands – and their customers – using proven techniques to solve challenges fast. We get a kick out of hearing that teams are feeling confident and excited about their next move, because they can see how it will connect with their customers. We smile when we hear that the pricing is landing well. But best of all, we’re helping teams to develop an experimental mindset. We know we’re on to something special when we look at each other and say – “imagine if we had this when we were running our teams!”
Steve’s experience is far ranging across the b2b media spectrum with senior marketing & product roles at Emap, Incisive, Wilmington and Procurement Leaders.
